Through this project we were able to develop our community skills by reaching out to members of the community, and was able to create awareness in regard to environmental sustainability. By working in a team we were given the opportunity to deepen our team work abilities which are crucial to develop good professional design practice in the future.

Designing and building a piece of furniture using recycled materials allowed us to test our innovation and material awareness whilst allowing us to gain/enhance our hands-on skills. This knowledge can be transferred over to our design process as future architects, incorporating sustainable methods into the construction process.

It was a great opportunity to be able to give back to the community and was also an eye-opening experience to how fortunate we are, even if we don't have all that we desire.
