our work
Day 1
When we first reached, we were welcomed by the caretakers and we met some of the students. We then started our work by measuring the walls so that we can draw the designs and estimate how much paint we need.
We then layed down newspapers by the wall so that it would be easier to clean up and also to prevent the paint from spilling on the grass. We scraped the existing paint of the wall so that we could paint the foundation on.
We started painting the foundation but could not finish it on the first day. We then packed up and cleaned up the place before saying goodbye to everyone.
Day 2
On the second day we continued to scrape of existing paint off the walls that we didn't do on the first day. This time we had a pressure pump so it was much easier.
We continued painting the foundation and had help from volunteers from around the neighbourhood. We then cleaned up and said goodbye.
Day 3
On day 3, we started to paint the walls with a baby blue colour that the caretakers chose. Maychen's workers also helped to fix the roof up.
This is the end product after we finished painting the walls.
Day 4
Before we started to paint the designs, we cut out the font templates that we printed. We then painted the designs on the wall using a purple paint that was chosen by the caretakers and also represented the organisation.
End product of the designs.
Day 5
On the 5th day, there was nothing much anymore except the final details, touch-ups and cleaning up the place.
We took group pictures and they gave us a small gift as a reward from our hard work.
